چکیده

We present a mathematical model that describes the initial stages of placental development during which trophoblast cells begin to invade the uterine tissue. We then carry out a mathematical analysis of a simpler submodel that describes the final stages of normal embryo implantation and suggests that as the timescale of interest increases, the dominant migratory mechanism of the trophoblasts switches from chemotaxis to nonlinear random motion. @ 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. Modelling the action of proteinase and inhibitor in tissue invasion.

Tissue invasion processes have been receiving considerable attention in recent years. The successful invasion and subsequent implantation of a mammalian trophoblast into maternal uterine tissue is under the control of a self-regulating mechanism, as yet not fully determined, which if operating incorrectly can lead to the excessive placental invasion associated with choriocarcinoma or insufficie...

A Mathematical Model of Trophoblast Invasion

In this paper we present a simple mathematical model to describe the initial phase of placental development during which trophoblast cells invade the uterine tissue as a continuous mass of cells. The key physical variables involved in this crucial stage of mammalian development are assumed to be the invading trophoblast cells, the uterine tissue, trophoblast-derived proteases that degrade the u...

A simple in vivo approach to investigate invasive trophoblast cells.

Intrauterine trophoblast cell invasion is an essential part of hemochorial placentation. Aberrant trophoblast cell invasion has been associated with pathologies including preeclampsia and fetal growth restriction. In this study, we describe an in vivo method to assess trophoblast cell invasion using a transgenic rat model, constitutively expressing heat stable human placental alkaline phosphata...

Human Trophoblast Progenitor Cells Express and Release Angiogenic Factors

Trophoblast stem cells develop from polar trophoectoderm and give rise to the cells that generate the placenta. Trophoblast cells are responsible for the uterinal invasion and vascular remodeling during the implantation of the embryo. However this knowledge is not yet to be confirmed for trophoblast progenitor cells (TPCs). In this study, we aimed to demonstrate that human TPCs (hTPCs) express ...

Expression of CD82 in Human Trophoblast and Its Role in Trophoblast Invasion

BACKGROUND Well-controlled trophoblast invasion at maternal-fetal interface is a critical event for the normal development of placenta. CD82 is a member of transmembrane 4 superfamily, which showed important role in inhibiting tumor cell invasion and migration. We surmised that CD82 are participates in trophoblast differentiation during placenta development. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS CD8...
